Sir Arthur Eddington, FRS, was the experimentalist most responsible for confirming the theory of relativity. He was one of those giants in physics and astronomy whose shoulders we stand on today.
"My Two Tables" was a lecture prepared for a 1927 physics course (The Gifford Lectures) at the University of Edinburgh. It was later re-published in the book, "The Nature of the Physical World" in 1928.
This version is actually slightly abbreviated in places, for clarity of meaning.
